Additional aircraft on LOT transatlantic flights

Warsaw, 22 April 2011 – LOT Polish Airlines has taken the decision to lease an additional airplane from another carrier to serve transatlantic flights temporarily.

A Boeing 767-300 has been chartered from the carrier Air Italy. Its first flight will take place on 27 April from Warsaw to Chicago and the last flight will be on 12 May. The aircraft will make 13 trips altogether, which will be carried out as LOT Polish Airlines flights.

The decision to lease the aircraft from another carrier is related to the high level of interest by passengers in transatlantic flights during the period of heightened spring traffic, and to a technical review of one of LOT’s long-distance aircraft.

There will be 12 business-class seats on the Air Italy 767-300, as well as 274 economy class seats. The aircraft will be crewed by Air Italy personnel. A LOT flight attendant will also be present among the cabin crew members.
