Dublin London: Aer Lingus Group plc (the “Company”) announces today the appointment of Mr. Frank O’Connor to its Board of Directors as Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.
Mr. O’Connor has been nominated for appointment to the Board of Directors by the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport of Ireland and is designated as a “Minister’s Nominee” in accordance with the Company’s Articles of Association.
Mr. O’Connor is co-founder and, since 2002, Chief Executive Officer of Airtel ATN Limited (“Airtel”), an independent supplier of data communication solutions for the aerospace industry. Mr. O’Connor has over 20 years of experience in aviation in the field of aeronautical telecommunications networks, having joined Retix as software engineering manager in 1990 prior to co-founding Airtel in 1998.
Prior to Retix, Mr. O’Connor spent four years at CACI where he managed the Dublin office and was responsible for the development of simulation tools. Mr. O’Connor started his career at Systems Dynamics, where he spent eight years including two in Germany and the Netherlands. Mr. O’Connor has a B.Sc. in Computer Science from University College Dublin.
Mr. O’Connor has no disclosure to make pursuant to Rule 6.6.7 of the Listing Rules of the Irish Stock Exchange or Rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
