Aer Lingus Group plc: Traffic Statistics – September 2012

Dublin & London, 4 October 2012: Aer Lingus Group plc (“Aer Lingus”), today announced traffic statistics for the month of September 2012.

Total flown passenger numbers, including Aer Lingus Regional operations, increased by 1.7% to 1,019,000 in September 2012 compared to September 2011.

Aer Lingus mainline’s flown passenger load factor in September 2012 increased by 1.3 points on September 2011 to 84.4%. Short haul flown load factor was 81.4%, an increase of 0.5 points on September 2011, with capacity decreasing by 0.9%. Long haul flown load factor was 90.7%, an increase of 3.0 points on September 2011, with capacity increasing by 0.4% on prior year.

Aer Lingus mainline’s total flown passenger numbers in September 2012 were 926,000, a decrease of 0.8% compared to September 2011. Short haul flown passengers in September 2012 were 829,000, a decrease of 1.4% on September 2011, while long haul flown passengers in September 2012 were 97,000, an increase of 4.3% on September 2011.

Aer Lingus Regional’s total flown passenger numbers in September 2012 were 93,000, an increase of 36.8% compared to September 2011.
