Aer Lingus Group plc has announced its traffic statistics for November 2014.
· The total number of passengers carried during the month, including Aer Lingus Regional, was 702,000 down 3.6% compared to November 2013 reflecting a planned reduction in short haul capacity.
· Long haul traffic increased by 28.4% to 104,000 passengers, up from 81,000 in the same month last year.
· Short haul traffic for the month was down 9.1%, primarily due to reduced capacity, with 509,000 short haul passengers carried compared to 560,000 in November 2013. The reduction in short haul capacity during November relates to planned network adjustments to protect margins in the context of seasonal demand conditions.
· The overall passenger load factor for the month was 72.6% compared to 73.3% in November 2013.
· Total Aer Lingus passengers to the end of November were up 3.7% to 10.373 million. The overall load factor for the 11 months also increased, up 0.8 percentage points to 79.5%
