Aer Lingus passenger numbers up 2.3% in October 2014

Aer Lingus Group plc has announced its traffic statistics for October 2014.
· The total number of passengers carried during the month, including Aer Lingus Regional, was 979,000, up 2.3% compared to October 2013.
· Long haul traffic increased by 29% to 129,000 passengers in October compared to 100,000 passengers for the same month in 2013
· Short haul traffic was 738,000 passengers compared to 754,000 in 2013
· The overall passenger load factor for the month was up 2.4 percentage points to 79.6%.
· The short haul passenger load increased to 75.5% in October 2014, whilst the long haul load factor was 84.6% compared to 80.3% in October the previous year.
· Total Aer Lingus passengers for the first ten months of 2014 were up 4.2% to 9.670 million.
