Aer Lingus: Traffic Statistics – September 2011

Dublin & London, 7 October 2011: Aer Lingus Group plc (“Aer Lingus”), today announced traffic statistics for the month of September 2011.

Total booked passenger numbers, including Aer Lingus Regional operations, increased by 5.0% in September which reflects the continuation of the positive trend noted in Aer Lingus’ recent trading update.

Aer Lingus’ total booked passenger numbers in September 2011 were 954,000, an increase of 2.9% compared to September 2010. Short haul booked passengers in September 2011 were 862,000, a 2.5% increase on September 2010 while long haul booked passengers in September 2011 were 92,000, a 7.0% increase on September 2010.

Aer Lingus’ booked load factor in September 2011 increased by 2.9 points on September 2010 to 83.9%. Short haul booked load factor was 82.5%, an increase of 1.9 points on September 2010, with capacity increasing by 1.7%. Long haul booked load factor was 87.0%, an increase of 5.2 points on September 2010, with capacity increasing by 0.7%.

Aer Lingus Regional’s total booked passenger numbers in September 2011 were 71,000, an increase of 44.9% compared to September 2010.
