Aer Lingus Group plc has announced traffic statistics for April 2014. Traffic for the month was boosted by the timing of Easter which fell in March in 2013 but moved to April for 2014. The introduction of new long haul services to San Francisco and Toronto in April 2014 also had a positive impact.
- Total traffic for the month, including Aer Lingus Regional, was up 12.2%, compared to April 2013, to 974,000 passengers.
- Aer Lingus long haul passengers increased by 32.1% from 84,000 to 111,000 in April 2014, while short haul passenger numbers were up 7.1% to 751,000
- The overall passenger load factor improved by 6.9 percentage points to 75.8 in April 2014.
