Aeroflot upgrades operational excellence with most advanced iOCC and iHCC

Following the support of JSC Aeroflot – Russian Airlines by Lufthansa Consulting in optimizing the carrier’s maintenance organization performance earlier this year, Russia’s leading airline has now extended the productive partnership with an additional project. The airline assigned the consultants to define a tailored concept for an integrated as well as inter-operations-focused Operations Control Center iOCC and Hub Control Center iHCC including its implementation.

Aeroflot aims to implement a state-of-the-art iOCC and iHCC to attain industry leadership in terms of on-time-performance, operations-related profitability and efficiency in resources utilization which leads to increased punctuality and customer satisfaction.

Lufthansa Consulting’s initial project approach is to analyze the operational processes and procedures and compare them with airlines’ best practice models. The consultants will identify gaps and overlaps to develop a state-of-the-art OCC and HCC tailored to Aeroflot’s needs. Together with the project team a new organizational structure based on leaner structures, optimized communication and streamlined decision making processes will be developed. Quickly realizable measures for improvement will also be implemented during the concept development. The entire findings and recommendations will be incorporated into the new iOCC iHCC concept enhanced by a new infrastructure design for both areas.

Finally, Lufthansa Consulting will provide on-site assistance throughout the implementation of the overall iOCC and iHCC infrastructure and the newly defined standards for disruption management that is scheduled to be launched by end of 2011.

Aeroflot – Russian Airlines is Russia’s leading airline company and has been a member of the global SkyTeam alliance since 2006. Recently the airline was named as the Best Eastern European Airline 2011 at the Skytrax World Airline Awards at the Paris Air Show. With a fleet of more than 100 aircraft Aeroflot operates flights to 102 destinations in 49 countries. In 2010, the Aeroflot Group including its subsidiaries carried 14 million passengers.
