From May, 1st, Aerolíneas Argentinas and the Brazilian airline GOL shall implement an agreement with “code share” by which the national flag air company shall commercialize, with its code, flights operated by GOL between Ezeiza and Rio de Janeiro as well as flights with connection in Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Brasilia to Salvador, Natal, Goiania and Manaus. This agreement, signed in San Pablo, between the Aerolíneas Argentinas President, Mr. Mariano Recalde and the CEO of GOL, Mr. Paulo Sergio Kakinoff, will permit to widen the range of connections for the passengers of both companies.
“This agreement is very important for Aerolíneas Argentinas because it gives our passengers the possibility to have access to more than 21 destinations that Gol airline has within Brazil and constitutes, additionally, an essential reinforcement of our own services during the performance of the Football Championship”, pointed Mr. Recalde and added, “we are very happy with this historical agreement that is too convenient for Aerolíneas, for our passengers and for the country, because they will be able to share and add miles , but fundamentally because from this agreement implementation onwards, we will be able to offer to the passengers of both airlines 119 destinations”, summarized Mr. Recalde.
From that date onwards, Aerolíneas shall commercialize with its own code AR, all the flights operated by Gol between Brazil and Argentina, as well as also the more than twenty destinations that cover the Brazilian airline within its territory, with connections in Río, Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Curitiba and Porto Alegre.
On its part, GOL shall commercialize, with its code G3, those flights that Aerolíneas and Austral operate to Brazil and the connections from Buenos Aires to Córdoba to more than twenty destinations within Argentina.
The Aerolíneas-GOL agreement shall permit the passengers of both airlines to accumulate miles when they fly by both companies indistinctly and exchange them in flights of both companies.
