MEXICO CITY, Oct. 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B. de C.V. (“Aeromexico”) (AEROMEX.MX), the largest airline in Mexico, today reported its unaudited consolidated results for the third quarter 2014.
KEY FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE THIRD QUARTER 2014
Grupo Aeromexico reported total third quarter revenues of $11.19 billion pesos; a 6.9% year-on-year increase.
Third quarter 2014 cost of available seat kilometers (CASK) in pesos, decreased by 1.5%, year-on-year, despite a 1.8% depreciation of the Mexican peso relative to the US dollar during the quarter. CASK expressed in US dollars, decreased by 3.3%, year-on-year. This is the seventh consecutive quarter that Grupo Aeromexico has successfully reduced its CASK.
Third quarter EBITDAR reached $2.14 billion pesos with a 19.1% margin, while adjusted EBITDAR reached $2.19 billion pesos with a 19.5% margin.
Third quarter 2014 operating profit reached $522 million pesos with a 4.7% operating margin. This represents 18 consecutive quarters of positive EBIT results. Net profit reached $201 million pesos in the same period.
Grupo Aeromexico retired four aircraft under operating lease agreements from its fleet during the third quarter of 2014: one B767, one B737-700 and two E-145. The Company added three B737-800, two E-170/175 and three E-190 to the fleet, also under operating lease agreement. Grupo Aeromexico’s operating fleet therefore consisted of 123 aircraft.
Third quarter 2014 load factor reached 81.9%; a 1.6 percentage point year-on-year increase.
