AEROSTAR EXHIBITS AT MRO EUROPE TO PURSUE ITS EUROPEAN GROWTH AMBITIONS

Aerostar S.A., the leading Romanian aerospace company, is attending the MRO Europe exhibition in Madrid (October 7-9 2014) and will use its participation to continue to increase its presence in the European commercial aircraft MRO market, specifically for the Boeing 737 family, Airbus A320 family and the BAe 146/Avro RJ family.

The Aerostar representatives will be Business Development Managers Iulian Leonte and Tudor Toncea.

Since diversifying into commercial aviation MRO activities 10 years ago, Aerostar has steadily built up a strong and growing customer base from airlines in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Over 300 ā€˜C’ and ā€˜D’ checks have been completed during this time for more than 25 airlines.

Having recently been among the first independent European MRO providers to install Split Scimitar Winglets (SSW) on to two Boeing 737-800s of TUIFly Nordic, Aerostar is currently carrying out at its Bacau facility in north-east Romania the same work on a Boeing 737-800 (msn 37238; registration OO-JAX) for TUI Airlines Belgium trading as Jetairfly

It is a heavy check together with SSW retrofit. The lead-time for the SSW, wing reinforcement and winglet installation, is seven days, absorbed in the turn-around time for the maintenance check.

After OO-JAX is completed, a similar work programme will be carried out on the next aircraft OO-JAU (msn 37250), also from JetAirfly.
