The inaugural flight AF 274 Paris – Phnom Penh, operated by an Airbus 340-300, landed today at Phnom Penh international airport.
After 37 years absence, Air France has resumed services to this destination with 3 weekly return flights between Paris and Phnom Penh. The first Paris – Saigon – Phnom Penh – Siem Reap route, which had been operated three times every fortnight since 1947, was stopped in 1974.
Thanks to French tourists’ interest in Cambodia, the country’s economic buoyancy and strong cultural ties with France, Air France is the first European airline to operate scheduled flights to Cambodia. On this occasion, Air France will offer its new Business and Premium Voyageur cabins on its flights to Phnom Penh.
This route relaunch comes within the framework of the Air France – KLM group’s expansion policy in Asia, where growth in capacity will be 10.1% in 2011.
