Air Georgian Achieves International Operational Safety Audit Registration

Air Georgian Limited, a leading Canadian private aircraft charter provider, has recently earned the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Operational Safety Audit registration. The IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) program is an internationally recognized and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline. IOSA uses internationally recognized quality audit principles and is designed to conduct audits in a standardized and consistent manner. All IATA members must maintain the IOSA in order retain eligibility for IATA membership.

IATA’s mission is to represent, lead and serve the airline industry. Its membership represents some 240 of the world’s leading passenger and cargo airlines – representing 84 percent of global air traffic.

“The audit is an in-depth look at the practices and standards of our operation and each of our branches of service, including our scheduled air service under the Air Canada Express banner, our aircraft management business, as well as our private jet charter division. The goal of the IOSA program is to meet a common worldwide standard for operational safety and benchmark this standard against everything we do,” according to Eric Edmondson, President of Air Georgian. "We fully support the continuous updating of standards to reflect regulatory revisions and the evolution of best practices within the global industry under the continuing stewardship of IATA.”
