AIR PACIFIC MARKS INAUGURAL A330 SERVICE TO HONG KONG

Air Pacific, soon to be ‘Fiji Airways’, today operated its first A330 commercial flight to Hong Kong, China. Colourful and traditional Chinese and Fijian ceremonies marked the event at the Nadi International Airport.

The new A330 aircraft proudly displays the airline’s soon to be adopted identity of ‘Fiji Airways’. In addition, the new plane also featured its new state of the art in-flight entertainment system, new seats and other on board amenities. Customers will experience even more service and product enhancements after the airline’s rebranding takes effect in June.

Air Pacific Managing Director and CEO Dave Pflieger said the airline was excited to showcase the new A330 flagship to key destinations now serviced by its B747s.

“Hong Kong is an important market for Air Pacific, and we’re committed to Hong Kong residents and those who transit through this award-winning airport,” Pflieger added.

“From today onwards all customers travelling to and from Hong Kong will only travel on our new A330 aircraft, and as a further demonstration of our commitment to this market, we will be adding a third weekly Hong Kong service in January 2014.”

Air Pacific launched in Nadi – Hong Kong direct flight in December 2009 and through its code-share partnership with Cathay Pacific, its international network now extends through Hong Kong to Southeast Asia, continental Europe and the United Kingdom.

To support Air Pacific’s expansion in the region, Air Pacific has also established a new office in Hong Kong to manage strategic marketing and sales partnership in Hong Kong, mainland China, Southeast Asia and beyond.

Air Pacific is the only airline to operate direct Hong Kong – Fiji flights. The airline also offers connecting flights via Nadi to Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, Australia as well as Auckland and Christchurch, New Zealand. Air Pacific is also the only airline serving Fiji to offer guests complimentary beverages, meals and snacks, onboard entertainment and one piece of checked in luggage of up to 23kgs.
