AIR TRANSAT EXPANDS AT LISBON AIRPORT

In a press conference this morning, Air Transat has unveiled its expansion plans for Lisbon airport from its two hubs in Canada, Toronto and Montreal.

From summer 2011 Air Transat will operate 3 weekly flights to Toronto and 1 weekly flight to Montreal, which represents an increase of 45% in the number of available seats from Lisbon to Canada with this airline.

Air Transat will operate these flights with an Airbus A310-300 with a capacity for 249 passengers, of which, 21 in Club Class.

Air Transat’s aim is to grow and strengthen its presence in Portugal and to become more easily accessible to all customers and its flights will become available for booking via all the available reservation systems in Portugal. This will enable all customers to book their flights, to Canada, either directly on Air Transat’s website or any other flight search engine as well as all travel agencies.

These changes mark the beginning of Air Transat’ operations in Portugal with regular scheduled services as opposed to the current charter operation.

Air Transat operates a fleet of 19 aircraft ranging from the Airbus 310-300 with capacity for 249 passengers to the Airbus 330-300 with capacity for 343 passengers.
