airberlin bond offering closed due to over-subscription

Due to the high demand, only one day after issuing a new 8.25 % bond, Air Berlin PLC will end the subscription ahead of schedule. The subscription period will end today and thus earlier than planned, as the subscriptions for the bonds already exceed the maximum principal amount of the bond issue of 150 million Euro. The subscription period for the bonds issued on 12 April was originally planned to run through 15 April. The bonds will be issued at 100 % of their principal amount and will be redeemed at 100 % of their principal amount on 19 April 2018, subject to prior early redemption.

Ulf Hüttmeyer, airberlin’s CFO, stated: “I am very satisfied with this result. The early closure of the subscription proves that investors have great confidence in airberlin.”
