airberlin: Increased capacity utilization in March

In March 2011, airberlin welcomed 2,594,556 passengers on board, i.e. slightly less (-0.2 percent) than in the corresponding month of the previous year (March 2010: 2,599,960 passengers). Fleet capacity utilization increased by 1.8 percentage points, namely from 71.8 to 73.6 percent. In comparison with March of the previous year, capacity was reduced by 2.7 percent.

For the period from January to March 2011, a total of 6,871,801 passengers traveled on airberlin’s flight route network, i.e. 1.9 percent more than in the corresponding period of the previous year (2010: 6,742,088 passengers). Fleet capacity utilization for the first three months of the year increased by 2.2 percentage points, namely from 70.3 to 72.5 percent. Accumulated capacity decreased by 1.2 percent.
