airberlin: More passengers and increased capacity utilization in June

In June 2011, the number of passengers flying airberlin increased by 4.0 percent to 3,471,923 (2010: 3,337,061 passengers). Fleet capacity utilization for June increased from 75.0 to 80.1 percent, i.e. an increase of 5.1 percentage points. In comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year, fleet capacity was reduced by 2.5 percent.

For the period from January to June 2011, a total of 16,423,166 passengers traveled on airberlin’s flight route network, i.e. 5.8 percent more than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Fleet capacity utilization for the first six months of the year increased from 72.3 to 75.3 percent, i.e. by 3.0 percentage points. airberlin’s accumulated fleet capacity showed an increase of 1.5 percent.
