airberlin: More passengers and increased capacity utilization in May

In May 2011, airberlin welcomed 3,300,658 passengers on board, i.e. 3.9 percent more than in the corresponding month of the previous year (2010: 3,177,591 passengers). Fleet capacity utilization increased by 2.1 percentage points, i.e. from 73.7 to 75.8 percent. As compared to May 2010, capacity was increased by 1.0 percent.

For the period from January to May 2011, a total of 12,951,243 passengers traveled on airberlin’s flight network, i.e. 6.3 percent more than in the corresponding period of the previous year (2010: 12,187,477 passengers). Accumulated capacity for the first five months of the year increased by 2.6 percent. Fleet capacity utilization for the period from January to May increased by 2.6 percentage points, i.e. from 71.5 to 74.1 percent.
