airberlin: More passengers in October 2014

In October 2014, Germany’s second-largest airline company transported 3,056,987 passengers, i.e. an increase of 1.5 percent over the corresponding month of the previous year. In yearly comparison, the revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) within airberlin’s worldwide flight route network increased by 1.9 percent, to 4,621.9 billion.

The available seat kilometers (ASK) for October amounted to 5.5 billion, i.e. an increase of 2.6 percent over the corresponding month of the previous year. The capacity utilization rate which was expanded by 2.1 percent with respect to the previous year remained essentially stable (-0.6 percentage points).

Over the past ten months of 2014, airberlin welcomed 27,895,190 passengers on board (+0.7 percent). The available seat kilometers (ASK) amounted to 50.894 billion kilometers (previous year: 49.567 billion), and the revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) amounted to 42.803 billion kilometers (previous year: 42.378 billion).
