Airclaims strengthens its worldwide network with the opening of a new office in South Africa

Airclaims is pleased to announce a further enhancement to its extensive global network with the opening of a new office in Johannesburg, South Africa and the appointment of Jaco van der Merwe as Country Manager.

Jaco joins Airclaims from Atlas Air Worldwide, Dubai, where he was responsible for overseeing the maintenance programme on their fleet of Middle East based aircraft. He was also involved in the expansion of their operation throughout Africa and knows the region well.

As a multi licensed engineer he has extensive aircraft maintenance experience on both commercial and general aviation aircraft, as well as flying experience gained as a pilot for DHL in Africa.

Jaco will be working closely with both the London office and Barry Lewis in South Africa.

Airclaims recognises that Sub-Saharan Africa is growing in terms of commercial and general aviation activity. With the enhancement of our capability in the region, Airclaims will be able to meet this growth and continue to provide a responsive and high quality service to the market.
