Alaska Air Group Names New Vice President of Human Resources

SEATTLE — Tammy Young has joined Alaska Air Group as vice president of human resources. Young will oversee employee benefits, compensation, training and development, recruitment, workers compensation and the employee travel services department at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air.

“Tammy is a seasoned human resource professional whose leadership and commitment to diversity will make Alaska and Horizon not only great places to work for employees, but also great airlines for our customers,” said Brad Tilden, Alaska Air Group president and CEO.

Prior to joining Alaska, Young served as managing director of human resources at Moss Adams LLP, a Seattle-based national accounting firm with 20 offices. Young was also director of human resources at both KPMG LLP and Arthur Andersen LLP.

“As a longtime customer of Alaska Air Group, I’m thrilled to join a company known for its innovation, community involvement, commitment to customer service and workplace excellence,” Young said.

Young earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of Wisconsin. A resident of Seattle, she serves on the boards of the Boys and Girls Clubs of King County and the Washington Athletic Club.
