IACA (International Air Carrier Association) is pleased to announce that Spanish carrier, Alba Star, has joined the association as a full member.
Alba Star, which took to the air in 2010, with bases at Palma de Mallorca and Milan Malpensa airports, offers short-medium haul charter flights with three Boeing 737-400 aircraft configured to carry 170 passengers. The airline works with a number of top Italian tour operators and is particularly well known for its services to the pilgrimage market and VIP flights.
Welcoming the airline to IACA, the association’s Director General, Sylviane Lust, said:
“We are delighted that Alba Star is joining IACA and we would like to welcome them warmly to our association. Spain has particularly suffered over the last years and it is very encouraging to see that Alba Star has been such a success story from the very start. IACA is extremely pleased to have another Spanish carrier in our membership.”
“We look forward to working with the team at Alba Star and assisting the airline on a range of aeropolitical, operational and technical issues in the future”.
Commenting on joining IACA, Michael Harrington, Managing Director of Alba Star said:
“We are very honored to join such a prestigious organization and look forward to making our contribution to this association. There are a number of important issues affecting small-medium charter airlines which can discriminate against us and our development.”
