Aldus Aviation leases 2 new Embraer E-Jets to AZUL

Shannon, Ireland. 23rd January, 2012. Aldus Aviation Limited (‘Aldus’) the Shannon, Ireland-based international aircraft leasing company, completed the delivery of two new Embraer E195-AR aircraft to the Brazilian carrier AZUL Brazilian Airlines on December 21st. These additions bring the Aldus portfolio to 19 Embraer E-Jet aircraft.

Stephen Gorman, CEO of Aldus stated: “Aldus is delighted to have closed this significant transaction with AZUL and to further diversify by model the Aldus portfolio of exclusively Embraer aircraft. The strong growth of the Brazilian domestic market dovetails well with the goal of broadening our customer base with established carriers in similar markets.”

Commenting on the transaction John Rodgerson, CFO of AZUL said: “We are very pleased to have concluded this transaction with Aldus and Aldus is a welcome addition to our growing lessor base.”

Embraer’s Eduardo Munhós de Campos, Vice President, Latin America and the Caribbean – Commercial Aviation said: “Embraer is very pleased with the news that Aldus has further expanded their Embraer portfolio and also that they have committed significant financial resources to develop the market for our products in Brazil.”
