Rome – From today, Wednesday 16th April, Alitalia resumes flights between Rome and Tripoli. Alitalia had suspended flights to Libya’s Capital since 23rd March. In the last days, Alitalia’s Security managers, accompanied by the Italian Ambassador in Libya and by the local airport and civil aviation Authorities, have conducted an inspection on Tripoli airport, thus giving the green light to the reactivation of the flight. The daily connection Rome – Tripoli – Rome by Alitalia is operated with the following schedule: the flight departs from Rome Fiumicino airport at 11.30AM arriving at Tripoli at 1:25PM (local time). From Tripoli Alitalia flight takes off at 2:25PM (local time) landing in Rome Fiumicino at 4:25PM. An Airbus A319 of Alitalia’s fleet, configured in two classes of service (“Ottima”, Alitalia business class on international routes and “Classica”, Alitalia’s economy class) is dedicated to operate these connections.
