ALTA Member Airlines Passenger Traffic Increases 6.0% in January

Miami, March 11, 2013 – The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced that its member airlines carried 14.1 million passengers in January, up 6.0% from the previous year.

Traffic (RPK) grew 7.5% and capacity (ASK) increased 6.0%, bringing up the load factor to 78.8%, 1.1 percentage points higher than in January 2012.

Freight ton kilometers declined 2.2% in January, reaching 376,133 FTKs.
