ALTA Member Airlines Passenger Traffic Increases 6.2% in January

The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced that its member airlines carried 17.0 million passengers in January, up 6.2% – or 1 million additional passengers – from the previous year.

Traffic (RPK) grew 6.7% and capacity (ASK) increased 4.8%, bringing up the load factor to 81.9%, 1.5 percentage points higher than in January 2014.

Freight ton kilometers declined 7.0% in January 2015 as compared with the same month of the previous year, reaching 381 million FTKs.
