An added touch of Sylt with airberlin next summer

airberlin will once again be whisking its guests from several cities directly to the German island of Sylt next summer. And to let even larger numbers of holidaymakers travel quickly and directly to the North Sea island, Germany’s second-largest airline is now expanding its services to Sylt. The non-stop flight from Nuremberg to Sylt, starting May 2015, is new on the schedule.

The current Sylt schedule will also feature more frequent flights: two will be added to the schedule departing Dusseldorf, bringing the total number of airberlin’s Sylt flights operating out of Dusseldorf to 16. There will be one additional flight to Sylt from Munich and Stuttgart, expanding airberlin’s Sylt schedule to include four services per week from Munich and five per week from Stuttgart. Services from Berlin and Zurich, each featuring two weekly connections, will remain unchanged. In total, 30 airberlin flights will touch down on Sylt each week.

“Our guests truly enjoy spending their summer holidays in Sylt. So it is our pleasure to offer our guests an even greater number of connections to the German holiday island. The new connections also mean that we will broaden the flight services operating out of Nuremberg Airport”, says airberlin Chief Commercial Officer Götz Ahmelmann.

Peter Douven, managing director at Sylt Airport, is delighted: “There are long established ties between airberlin and Sylt Airport. We are thrilled that Germany’s second-largest airline is again expanding its services to Sylt and, as a result, will enable even greater numbers of holidaymakers to enjoy convenient travel from a variety of airports in Germany and Switzerland. This makes short travel times for holidays or mini-breaks even easier.”

Passengers can book their tickets to Sylt online at airberlin.com, in the company’s Service Center under +49 30 3434 3434 (local rates apply) and in travel agencies.
