ASKY announces new destinations: Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro from July 1, 2013

In partnership with Ethiopian Airlines, ASKY is happy to announce the commencement of flights from its hub in Lomé (Togo) to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) from the 1st of July 2013

Connecting from all our destinations in West and Central Africa, we are happy to serve you with flights 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday) to Brazil.

Sao Paulo is the economic capital of Brazil, an emerging country and one of the world’s fastest growing economies. In 2011, Brazil was rated the world’s sixth largest economy (in front of UK) with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of USD 2517 Billion. The country is developing economic connections with the African continent in particular and the world in general. The population of Sao Paulo is estimated at more than 22 Million people from around Brazil and elsewhere. The city has countless treasures and attractions. African communities, Japanese, Italian and Lebanese have strong representation and have brought their cultures and cuisines into the citiy.

Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city in Brazil after Sao Paulo. With nearly 20 Million citizens. It is one of the biggest cities on the American continent.

Rio de Janeiro is world famous for its carnival, beaches (Copacabana and Ipanema) and the statute of Christ the Redeemer on top of the Corcovado Hill.

In 2013, the city will host the World Youth Days, and in 2014, the final of the football World Cup, and then in 2016, the Summer Olympic games.
