Avion Express launches Airbus 320 Passenger Operation

Avion Express introduced today its first Airbus 320 passenger aircraft on its Air Operators Certificate. The aircraft, with registration marks LY-VEX, will ferry today from Mirabel Airport in Montreal to Milano Malpensa Airport in Italy. The last weeks it has been undergoing maintenance and cabin interior refurbishment at Mirabel Aero Services, Montreal. The aircraft will be operating charter flights out of Milano, Malpensa, under the brand “Avion Express Italia”. Avion Express Managing Director Aleksei Lupitski said that “the introduction of this first Airbus 320 aircraft marks a new era in the company history”. LY-VEX is the first Airbus aircraft to be registered in Lithuania.

David Masson, Chairman of the Board, said on the occasion that „he is very excited about this important milestone and that he was extremely pleased with the smooth introduction of the aircraft mainly due to the professionalism of the staff of Avion Express“. The first flight is scheduled on Sunday April 3rd from Milano to Malaga.

Avion Capital Partners is a major shareholder in Avion Express. In addition to the Airbus 320, Avion Express operates a fleet of four cargo and passenger SAAB340 aircraft.
