AWAS delivers Airbus A330-200 to Garuda Indonesia

Dublin based aircraft lessor, AWAS, announced today that it has delivered a new Airbus A330-200 wide-body aircraft to Garuda Indonesia Airlines. After an over ten year hiatus this marks the revitalization of a strong partnership between AWAS and Garuda.

“This new A330 from AWAS will allow us to implement part of our five year ‘Quantum Leap’ transformation strategy, by providing superior wide-body comfort and service to regional and European destinations” said Emirsyah Satar, President & CEO of Garuda. “We are also pleased to be working with AWAS again; their team proved their expertise and value to us, providing a comprehensive solution to meet our fleet expansion needs. This is just the first of several aircraft we will receive from AWAS this year.”

This A330-200 aircraft features Garuda Indonesia’s new signature interior with individual touch-screen LCD TVs throughout Executive and Economy Classes, as well as Audio Video on Demand (AVOD) entertainment systems.

“Garuda Indonesia is a very important and expanding pan-Asia and global airline. They have successfully undertaken one of the most ambitious and successful business transformations in the industry, and have established a strong foundation for many years to come,” said Ray Sisson, President & CEO AWAS. “We believe that our Asia-based AWAS team provides our customers with unmatched knowledge of the market, delivering a meaningful advantage.”
