AWAS delivers second new A330-300 widebody passenger aircraft to AirAsia X

AWAS announced today that they have delivered the second of two new A330-300 widebody passenger aircraft on long-term lease to AirAsia X. These aircraft had previously been ordered directly from the manufacturer by the airline and were part of a purchase and leaseback transaction with AWAS.

AWAS has supported AirAsia X since their launch, beginning with the lease of their first A330-300 to commence operations in 2007. AirAsia X serves a region with explosive population and GDP growth and has been successful in providing a low cost solution with a highly-regarded brand to capitalise on the increased demand for air travel in these markets.

This aircraft will be based in Kuala Lumpur at the new KLIA 2 terminal which opened in May 2014 and will be used on long/medium haul regional routes in the Asia Pacific region including destinations in China, Australia and Japan.
