AWAS announced today that it has delivered on lease to Airblue, the fastest growing airline based in Pakistan, the first of two new A320 aircraft to assist with their planned expansion and modernisation programme. These aircraft are from AWAS’ new order pipeline, and include factory-fitted end-of-wing Sharklets to maximise fuel burn efficiency.
Tariq Chaudhary, CEO Airblue commented on the delivery, “This is a very special day for Airblue, to receive our first new leased A320 built and configured expressly for our airline. We want to thank AWAS, who have supported us with modern aircraft for several years now. They have now delivered this new A320 to us which will assist us in adding capacity to our successful routes to serve a growing market in Pakistan.”

Founded in 2004 Airblue offers daily domestic services linking Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, as well as international services to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Istanbul, Manchester, Muscat and Sharjah. These new aircraft will help Airblue continue to deliver reliable, high-quality service to their customers.
