BAE SYSTEMS WINS COMMERCIAL AVIATION CONSULTANCY CONTRACTS AND SIGNS PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENTS

Hatfield, Hertfordshire……The growing Asset Management business development activities of BAE Systems Regional Aircraft has been enhanced during 2010 with the winning of several consultancy contracts from a number of commercial aviation companies and the signing of two partnership agreements.

Whilst the primary focus of the business development team has been the growing and successful aircraft remarketing activities, the skills of the wider Asset Management team have also been in demand for a variety of aircraft projects.

Hamish Davidson, Executive Vice President Business Development for Asset Management stated: “We have put a lot of effort into winning these consultancy contracts and partnership agreements as they demonstrate to the market our considerable range of expertise and practical hands-on approach that is on offer to the wider aviation market. Although some of these contracts are relatively small, they do give scope to lead to further opportunities.”

Consultancy contracts won during 2010 have included:
A range of services on behalf of several blue-chip international insurance companies covering technical services/audit of aircraft and market intelligence on different aircraft types;
Air Botswana – technical services consultancy on BAe 146-100;
Partnership agreements have been signed with two US-based companies:
Evergreen Maintenance Centre Inc of Pinal Air Park, Marana, Oregon – an agreement under which both parties will promote each other’s services. BAE Systems’ business development expertise could assist with the placing of mainstream aircraft types into storage at Evergreen’s facility for maintenance and refurbishment work. In return Evergreen will promote BAE Systems’ services to aircraft owners;
PATS Aircraft Services of Georgetown, Delaware – a partnership agreement to offer their auxiliary fuel systems in order to expand the capabilities of remarketed aircraft.
Mr Davidson added: “During the coming year we plan to capitalise on our consulting and partnership arrangements in order to underpin the position of Asset Management as a leading provider and single source for aircraft management and remarketing requirements.”
