Brussels Airlines and Thai Airways International sign codeshare agreement

Brussels Airlines now offers its passengers the possibility to fly comfortably between Brussels Airport and Bangkok. The new flight offer is the result of a partnership agreement between Brussels Airlines en its Star Alliance partner Thai Airways International (THAI) , that operates the flights.

Thailand is one of the most popular Asian holiday destinations on the Belgian travel market. From now on the capital city Bangkok, the key international gateway to the country, is within easy reach of the Brussels Airlines passengers. Thai Airways International and Brussels Airlines recently concluded a codeshare agreement that allows Brussels Airlines to put the SN flight code on Thai Airways flights and sell tickets on the route.

Since November last year, Thai Airways operates 3 weekly direct flights from Brussels Airport to Bangkok (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday). All flights are operated with Boeing 777 aircraft and passengers can expect the typical superb Thai hospitality on board. Brussels Airlines passengers can earn and spend Miles & More miles on this scheduled service.

Brussels Airlines and Thai Airways are both members of the global airline alliance Star Alliance. “Since Brussels Airlines joined Star Alliance in 2009, we have been developing our home base Brussels Airport into a true Star Alliance hub”, says Brussels Airlines’ CCO Erik Follet. “The new cooperation with our Star Alliance partner Thai Airways is another proof of this.”

“It is with great pleasure that we begin code-share flights with Brussels Airlines, particularly after THAI began direct flights from Bangkok-Brussels on 17 November 2011. The code-share agreement between the two carriers will offer passengers greater choice in traveling between Bangkok and Brussels and vice versa, with access to other parts of the European Union as well as parts of Southeast Asia,” said Mr. Pandit Chanapai, THAI Executive Vice President, Commercial.
