Canada's major airlines welcome all-in pricing

OTTAWA, Dec. 18, 2012 /CNW/ – The National Airlines Council of Canada (NACC) today welcomed the new framework for air fare advertising as announced by Transport Minister Denis Lebel today.

“We genuinely appreciated the open and meaningful consultative process undertaken by the Canadian Transportation Agency. The new framework is a good example of industry and government working together. We are pleased that the new rules provide clarity, maximize transparency and ultimately help the consumer make informed decisions”, said George Petsikas, President of the NACC.

The member airlines of the NACC look forward to working expeditiously with the Canadian Transportation Agency to implement the new pricing regulations. The NACC also looks forward to working with the federal government on other initiatives designed to ensure the safest, most competitive and environmentally sustainable air transport system in the world.

The National Airlines Council of Canada is a trade association founded by Air Canada, WestJet, Air Transat and Jazz Aviation LP in order to ensure safe, sustainable and competitive air travel.
