Cargolux introduces services to Ouagadougou

Cargolux Airlines International S.A. today announced that it will add Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, to its network of African destinations. Often called the center of the nation, Ouagadougou is the country’s largest city; its main industries are food processing and textiles.

The first Cargolux flight will be operated on 24 April and is followed by weekly flights every Wednesday.

The service is spurred by growing demand from markets in France, as well as in Asia and the Americas. Supplies and equipment for the mining industries in Burkina Faso are among the main commodities; they rely on airfreight because of the landlocked geographical position of the country.

Exports from Burkina Faso primarily include perishable goods – mainly fresh beans and mangoes – that greatly benefit from the sophisticated temperature-controlled environment of Cargolux’s modern Boeing 747 freighters.

Cargolux flight CV8043/CV8053 offers shippers in this region the fastest and most comfortable connection to the major markets in Europe and all points beyond in the worldwide Cargolux network.
