CHANGE TO QANTAS BOARD

SYDNEY, Thursday, 26 February 2015: Qantas Chairman Leigh Clifford announced that, effective today, Garry Hounsell will retire as a Director of Qantas Airways Ltd, after 10 years on the Board.

Mr Hounsell was appointed in January 2005. He has served as Chairman of the Audit Committee and a Member of the Nominations Committee.

Mr Clifford praised Mr Hounsell’s contribution throughout his decade as a Director.

“Garry has been a dedicated and energetic member of the Board,” Mr Clifford said. “With experience as a business leader and director across a wide range of industries, he has brought valuable perspective to Board deliberations.

“I have been grateful for his counsel during a period which has seen Qantas navigate the Global Financial Crisis and deliver its biggest transformation program since being privatised in 1995. In particular, I commend his strong leadership of the Audit Committee at a challenging time for the business.

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to sincerely thank Garry and wish him well for the future.”
