CIT NAMES ANTHONY DIAZ PRESIDENT OF CIT AEROSPACE, COMMERCIAL AIRLINES

NEW YORK, NY – July 5, 2012 – CIT Group Inc. (NYSE: CIT) a global leader in transportation finance, today announced that Anthony Diaz will become President of CIT Aerospace, Commercial Airlines. He previously served as Executive Vice President of the group. As President, Diaz will maintain his current responsibilities managing the activities of the Commercial Airlines group which consists of more than 325 commercial aircraft operated by more than 115 customers in 55 countries.

“Tony has played an integral role in building the CIT Aerospace, Commercial Airlines team, and its portfolio of fuel efficient, modern aircraft over the last several years,” said C. Jeffrey Knittel, President of Transportation Finance at CIT. “His expertise in aircraft leasing and financing has resulted in the growth of CIT Aerospace, and helped us to position the business for success.”

Prior to joining CIT in 1987, Diaz was with People Express Airlines, Continental Airlines, and Cessna Finance in a variety of operational and financial capacities. Diaz serves on the Board of the International Society of Transport Aircraft Traders (ISTAT).
