Surinam Airways( SLM) and InselAir are partnered by a so-called code-share agreement thus offering more destinations to the passenger.
Through this agreement the passengers are more protected in case of delays or other industry-related problems because the responsibility for the passengers is automatically guaranteed. The partnership will create the possibility to travel 9 times per week to Curacao, Miami or the more than 20 shared destinations in the region. The code-share agreement further ensures that a passenger from InselAir but transported by Surinam Airways has the same rights and protection as is usual in InselAir and vice versa.
Since August 2007 there is a cooperation between SLM and InselAir which was very successful and had good results. There for it was decided to expand this cooperation by signing this code-share agreement. The code-share agreement was possible because both companies are IOSA certificated which means that they have successfully gone through and are certified for the IATA Operational Safety Audit. Without the IOSA certification this code-share agreement or even an Interline agreement would almost be impossible in the current international aviation world, because of the stringent requirements that IOSA uses by measuring the service to the passenger, flight safety, trainings and the operations of the airline.
The code-share agreement was recently signed on July 12, 2012 by the CEO of Surinam Airways Mr. Ewald Henshuys and CEO of InselAir Mr. Albert Kluyver. " This agreement offers our passengers greater choice by a large increase in the frequencies between the different destinations while in the foreseeable future the number of joint destinations will be expanded, "said the CEO of Surinam Airways Mr Ewald Henshuys. Albert Kluyver, CEO of InselAir says:” The agreement is an important step forward for Inselair. We have been consciously working in recent years to build a company that has an important role in the international aviation. The policy of Inselair has therefore always been geared to meet the highest applicable international standards within the industry and InselAir was successful in reaching this. The new code-share agreement is a consequence thereof, and we are confident that it will be a success. "
