COMAC and Fokker Technologies sign ARJ-21 contract at the Zhuhai Airshow in China

Fokker Elmo, part of Fokker Technologies, has signed a contract with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd (COMAC) subsidiary Shanghai Aircraft Design and Research Institute (SADRI) for cooperation on the ARJ21 Aircraft Electrical Wiring and Interconnection System (EWIS).

During the last year Fokker Elmo and SADRI have been working closely together on the complex environment of requirements and requirements evolution for aircraft EWIS. The cooperation will start early 2013 and will predominately be performed at the SADRI facilities in Shanghai. The activities will involve the current ARJ21 EWIS evolution to meet the international CAAC, FAA and EASA EWIS standards.

Fokker Elmo has been active in China over 15 years, it’s successfully established its facility in Langfang in 1997 and employs over 700 people. Fokker Elmo China supplies complex wiring systems and electrical panels and boxes from its EN9100 certified facility to most of the leading commercial aircraft and aircraft engine programs worldwide.

Fokker Elmo President, Mr. Jan Lagasse stated: “Fokker Elmo is very excited about cooperating with COMAC and SADRI on the ARJ-21 program and is pleased about this further implementation of the strategy to broaden its portfolio in the emerging markets.
