BEAVERTON, Ore. (June 29, 2014) – Precision Aircraft Solutions has begun conversion of a DHL-owned 757 aircraft, MSN 28718. The aircraft will be operated in India by Blue Dart Aviation, a DHL affiliate. It will be the 15th overall aircraft and the fifth 757 plane converted by Precision to fly in the DHL global network. The conversion is underway at TAECO in Xiamen, PRC, with redelivery targeted for early October.
DHL currently operates 14 Precision-converted aircraft around the globe, including several in India, Australia, North America, the Republic of Panama and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
“This conversion represents a milestone in our continued commitment to producing the most flight-efficient, cargo-converted 757s in the world,” said Gary Warner, Precision president. “DHL’s enduring confidence in Precision is extremely meaningful to our team.”
The conversion is its first for DHL since the Precision organization restructured earlier this year. Today with five subsidiaries, Precision provides comprehensive aircraft modification services and support while continuing to pioneer its signature aircraft conversion program. The program has produced the world’s only 15-pallet 757-200 freighter in production. Its second one-of-a-kind conversion product – a 15-pallet winglet-modified 757-200 – is now in progress.
