Further to easyJet’s announcement on 13 July 2011, easyJet confirms that it has replied to easyGroup’s letter of 11 July 2011.
In compliance with the Comfort Letter entered into between easyJet and Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou in October 2010, easyJet has made its detailed response in private.
However, the Board confirms that in its response it has:
- reiterated its position that easyJet’s fleet announcement of 4th January fully complied with the Listing Rules and reflected discussions which took place in advance of its release with the UK Listing Authority and specifically that it fell below the threshold for Class 1 transactions requiring shareholder approval;
*otherwise rejected all of easyGroup’s allegations of wrongdoing; and
*invited Sir Stelios to meet with the Chairman to discuss the company’s strategy in private.
