EASYJET’S INAUGURAL FLIGHT TAKES OFF FROM LONDON GATWICK TO LUXEMBOURG

easyJet, Europe’s No 1 air transport network, celebrates today the launch of its new route between London Gatwick and Luxembourg. easyJet will be the first low fares carrier to operate on this key business route which is also popular with leisure passengers taking short breaks to the city or exploring this diverse region of Europe covering Germany and France, including the famous Champagne region.

easyJet’s first flight to Luxembourg was operated by an easyJet Luxembourger First Officer Michel Castellucci. The aircraft was greeted by a water cannons welcome at the arrival.

Paul Simmons, UK Director for easyJet, commented:

“Luxembourg is a key commercial European centre and the latest business route served by easyJet from London Gatwick – further enhancing our network across Europe.”

“We believe that our services will be popular and will be able to meet the business demand expectations. More than 50,000 passengers are expected to fly on the route on the first year of operations. easyJet has proved again and again that when we enter a new market we open it up enabling more people to travel on the route. We look forward to welcoming passengers on board.”

A number of large global companies base their headquarters in Luxembourg the city including well-known brands like Amazon, Paypal, Exxon Mobil and Skype.

The four times a week services will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays and prices start from £32.99 one way all taxes included.
