El Al warned that all Israeli airlines may stop flying due to security concerns abroad, effective 01 January 2019, according to a letter from the airline’s chairman Eli Dapas addressed to the deputy head of Israel’s National Security Council and the director general of the Prime Minister’s Office.
All flights would be halted because the Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not intend on employing security guards worldwide, as no agreement has been reached with the employees yet.
Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office, however, expects to resolve the issue with the Ministry of Finance within days.
