ERA and RAA sign memorandum of cooperation

The European Regions Airline Association (ERA) and the Regional Airline Association (RAA) formalised its long-standing working relationship during a signing ceremony on 13 May at the RAA’s 39th Annual Convention in St Louis. The memorandum of cooperation between ERA and RAA involves sharing best practices and joint communications and public relations work to raise the profile, importance and influence of regional operators and operations in both continents. The agreement will also involve the exchange of intelligence and proposed developments by US and European regulators, as well as reciprocal attendance of both associations’ events.

“Recognising the increasing global network of the regional airline industry, we are proud to formalise our relationship with ERA during our annual convention in front of our airline members, associate members and numerous industry stakeholders,” noted RAA President Roger Cohen. “Both associations have common priorities, including the highest standards in safety and service to the flying public. Worldwide the regional airline industry is known for its superior jet and turboprop fleet with leading edge amenities and technologies in the aircraft.”

ERA Director General Simon McNamara commented: “ERA’s and RAA’s members share a great deal of common challenges and opportunities, and it makes perfect sense to work even more closely together for the benefit of both our memberships. Collectively, our members move over 200 million passengers on both sides of the Atlantic; today’s agreement means that our shared experience and knowledge can be put to good use to defend, protect and support our airlines and the value chain of suppliers that we also work with and represent.”
