Finnair and airberlin extend cooperation to Singapore route

The codeshare cooperation that began last November between Finnair and airberlin is being extended to Finnair’s new Singapore route.

In the first stage, cooperation covered routes between Germany and Finland. A few weeks ago, codeshare cooperation was extended to Finnair-operated Delhi flights. Now cooperation will be extended further with the addition of Finnair’s Singapore route, for which sales begin in the next few days.

An airberlin flight code will be added to Finnair’s Singapore service, which will open on 30 May. This latest form of cooperation presents opportunities, particularly for business passengers travelling between Germany and Southeast Asia.

“Cooperation with airberlin gives Finnair a stronger foothold in Central Europe, which in turn supports Finnair’s Asian strategy significantly. airberlin’s network covers the market area with the highest purchasing power in Europe. Through this cooperation, many fast, new connections from German-speaking Central Europe to Asia will be opened up to airberlin’s customers,” says Hannu Sundberg, Finnair’s VP, Airline Partnerships.

For Finnair’s Finnish customers, cooperation with airberlin has offered new destinations in both German-speaking Europe and the Mediterranean area. airberlin is a future oneworld partner of Finnair and Germany’s second biggest airline.
