Finnair avoids support strikes, flights operated normally

The Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) and Finnair’s catering subcontractor LSG Sky Chefs Finland Oy reached reconciliation in negotiations led by the National Conciliator today, November 18. Consequently the threat of extensive support strikes now disappears and Finnair may operate its flights normally.

“We are pleased that our customers’ worries can now be put aside and that we can return to normal flight schedules. We want to express apologies to our customers for the disruptions in the past days and the uncertainty and harm caused by both strike and support strike threats,” says Finnair Chief Operating Officer Ville Iho. “These kinds of situations are always regrettable for Finnair, whose operations are based on quality and punctuality.”
