Finnair: Extension to pilot negotiations

Cost savings negotiations in line with the Finnish Employment and Growth Pact between Finnair and the Finnish Air Line Pilots’ Association (SLL) were due to be concluded today. The negotiation parties are willing to try to get closer to a solution in line with the savings target. Therefore the negotiation time has been extended.

“We have sought for a solution mainly in elements related to salary and efficiency,” says Finnair COO Ville Iho. “Despite progress, we have not yet agreed how to reach the 17 million euro savings target. We wanted to give the negotiators some more time because progress has been made, and we hope that we can still reach a solution. Should we reach the savings target, we would be ready to offer the pilots up to two-year protection against lay-offs.”
