Finnair has opted for the codeshare management solution SchedConnect from Lufthansa Systems. With SchedConnect Finnair can optimize their codeshare management, which leads to cost savings and higher revenues.
SchedConnect offers a high degree of automation, calculating the optimum codeshare assignments based on the current flight schedules every day. Each month, the system processes up to 35 million schedule changes made by SchedConnect customers worldwide. If a minimum connecting time is violated due to a schedule change or if a partner flight is canceled, the system automatically assigns the marketing flight number to another suitable connecting flight. Changes are sent through the reservation systems to travel agents and customers as well as to the operations and passenger-related systems of the airlines involved.
Finnair is specialised in fast connections between Europe and Asia via Helsinki. The airline carries more than eight million passengers annually and connects 13 cities in Asia with more than 60 destinations in Europe. The only Nordic carrier with a 4-star Skytrax ranking, Finnair has also won the World Airline Award for Best Airline Northern Europe for the past three years running. Finnair is a member of the oneworld alliance.
